The Truth is… (“Slow and Steady!”)

Hello Chanels and Cocktails family! My apologies for the lengthy hiatus. I really just needed time to focus on myself. And also a minute to gather more content… I was running  out of things to talk about.

(LOL! The pressure of blogging.)

But seriously, you  know most new adventures start out like that. We begin the journey super-duper excited, but after a few months or even weeks, the passion begins to somewhat diminish, particularly if we aren’t consistently being fed with desired results. THE TRUTH is, most of us never really lose the desire to reach that particular goal or tackle that new adventure. That passion still exists within us. This is when we decide to  fight or flight. This is when you truly come to know yourself. It is in our weakest moments that we actually are the strongest.

Yeah, yeah some of you may say, it’s just a stupid blog. It’s not really that serious. Regardless how big the goal/target is or how small, it is still yours. It belongs to you. So why not fight for it. But you must remember to take it easy and not bite off more than you can handle. Slow and steady wins the race.”When I first started this blog, I said I was going to blog everyday  (FYI…that’s called being over-confident), but I was doing it. Then, my blogging decreased to about 2-3 times a week. Now I am barely pumping out a single blog once every 2-3 months. SMH! (Let’s have a moment to pray… “Jesus guide me!” — Lbvs! ) In the bible, Paul spoke about pressing towards your goal.  Blogging is something I enjoy doing so my goal is to continue and to constantly try to get better and gain more knowledge. Personally, I enjoy reading blogs, articles, books, journals, magazines, etc. Ironically, regardless the publication, I always take  away a nugget of information, no matter how mediocre or how dramatically influential that nugget may be. Amazingly some of the best nuggets I have received have been from random sources at inopportune moments. I will never forget the time “my good Judy” and I stumbled across some life changing affirmations on the bathroom stall at a little Reggae/ Old school hip hop club on Frenchmen street in New Orleans! Absolutely, undeniably some of the best advice I had ever received. So if any of you are able to obtain a small nugget of information, a laugh, or  maybe some inspiration from my blogs, it is all worth it.

On a funnier note…. Boy do I have some content to share w/ my Chanels and Cocktails family.  A lot has transpired since the last time I wrote and I do plan to tell you all about it. Let me just start by saying, “Peewee”, who was once the bane of my existence,  no longer holds that title. He is leaving my unit at work! Yay!!! (Does quick dance in chair, while displaying a big, bright Kool-Aid smile.)  If I don’t have anything else to rejoice about, that is enough! When I tell you,  since receiving the news of his pending departure, every single ounce of my body has been oozing with excitement. Now don’t get me wrong, yes I  returned to work on a much brighter note than the way I left (back in October), but ultimately, parting ways is what is best for us both.  So in short, I wish him well in his future endeavors and May God forever bless and keep him. No more horrid tales of “Peewee” in my blogs… Yippee!!! 🙂

Don’t worry, I have even more candid topics to discuss and more information to unveil, so don’t go anywhere. Thanks for all your support! Chat later!!!

Lessons I learned:

Often times we want others to be patient with us, but we neglect to be patient with ourselves. Don’t over exert yourself or have unrealistic expectations. “Rome wasn’t built in one day”…All great things take time.

Remember the tortoise and the hare… “Slow and steady wins the race!”
