PUBLIC VS. PRIVATE (HOW MUCH IS TOO MUCH?)

“How much is too much regarding what is okay to be in the public eye and what needs to be kept private?”

I have been hearing a few things over the years about Malia Obama’s behavior. I have never followed any of the stories because I have always felt that she is just a kid living her life. Recently, Malia is back in the spotlight after photos surfaced of her smoking cigarettes and kissing some guy in public. This morning I decided to look at the photos myself. This is typical teenage behavior. She was doing nothing different from any other teenager—- But that is the “GAG!”

As a first daughter, I don’t think you should exhibit “typical teen behavior” because unfortunately, you aren’t a typical teen. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t see anything wrong with the kissing. Kissing is innocent enough… But smoking in public is a huge “No! No!’

I am not perfect. I used to also smoke but it was always done in private. I would never smoke in public because I didn’t want anyone to see me smoking… Particularly not anyone from work because I didn’t want to be judged. The sad truth is regardless of how high or how low you are on the totem pole, you aren’t exempt from being judged. We must always exhibit a certain level of discretion—Especially as women.

Lesson to live by:

Don’t do anything in public that you wouldn’t do directly in front of your parents, boss, co-workers, church members, pastor, friends, etc.  You never know who may be watching!!!

You already know I’m a pretty private person, so I feel like what’s private is private and what’s public is public if that makes any sense at all. Basically I agree with u, u never know who’s watching… especially if u are a public figure😘
